Caitlin Ellis

Caitlin is an early and central medieval historian, focusing on relations and exchange between different populations. She has special interests in the dealings between Scandinavian or Norman incomers and the inhabitants of Britain and Ireland, with an emphasis on migrant experiences, cultural identities and hybridity. Caitlin Ellis received her BA, MPhil and PhD from the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, University of Cambridge. She has taught at the University of East Anglia and the University of Oxford. She has been awarded a Bernadotte fellowship by the Royal Gustavus Adolphus Academy to conduct research at Stockholm University.
